About This Tool
Description
The Application Torch (also known as a Roofing Torch or Propane Torch) is a professional hand-held, propane-fuelled tool used to heat and bond modified bitumen waterproofing membranes to roof surfaces. It delivers a high-intensity, controlled flame through a wide burner head, melting the underside of the membrane so it fuses seamlessly to the substrate — creating a watertight, durable bond without the need for adhesives or mechanical fasteners.
Designed for single-handed operation, the long neck tube keeps the operator safely distanced from the flame while maintaining full control over heat application during membrane installation.
🏠
Torch-Down Roofing
The primary tool for heat-welding APP and SBS modified bitumen membrane sheets on flat and low-slope roofs — fusing layers into a seamless, waterproof barrier.
🌊
Waterproofing Membranes
Used to apply torch-on waterproofing membranes to concrete decks, podium slabs, basements, and below-grade structures requiring high-performance waterproofing.
🏗️
Roofing Flashings
Ideal for detail torch work around roof penetrations, upstands, drains, parapets, and wall-to-roof junctions where precision heat application is critical.
🌉
Bridge Deck Waterproofing
Applied in torch-on waterproofing systems for bridge decks and infrastructure surfaces where a bonded, seamless membrane is required under wearing course asphalt.
🏢
Commercial & Industrial Roofing
Standard equipment for roofers working on commercial warehouses, factories, and large-area flat roof installations requiring fast, reliable membrane bonding.
🔧
Roof Repairs & Re-roofing
Used to heat-weld patches, seal seam failures, and re-bond lifting edges on existing torch-down roofing systems during repair and maintenance work.
