About This Product
Description
Polypropylene Fibre (PP Fibre) is a high-performance synthetic micro-reinforcement material added directly to concrete, mortar, or screed mixes to dramatically improve crack resistance, toughness, and durability. The short, discrete fibres disperse uniformly throughout the mix during batching, forming a three-dimensional micro-reinforcement network that bridges micro-cracks before they can develop and propagate.
Chemically inert, corrosion-free, and non-magnetic, PP fibre is a cleaner and more cost-effective alternative to steel wire mesh for shrinkage crack control — requiring no cutting, laying, or positioning on site.
What It Does
Key Features
- Dramatically reduces plastic shrinkage and drying shrinkage cracking in fresh and hardened concrete — the primary cause of surface cracking
- Creates a 3D micro-reinforcement network throughout the entire concrete matrix — not just at the surface like mesh
- Improves flexural toughness, impact resistance, and energy absorption capacity of the hardened concrete
- Enhances fire resistance — fibres melt at ~165°C, creating micro-channels that relieve steam pressure and prevent explosive spalling
- 100% corrosion-free and chemically inert — unaffected by alkalis, acids, and moisture; no rust staining ever
- Reduces water permeability and improves waterproofing of the concrete matrix
- Simply added to the mixer with aggregates — no special equipment, cutting, or positioning required on site
